The day Aiken was born was the best and the hardest day of our lives. We were filled with joy, excitement, nervousness, so much love, and gratefulness. We were also overwhelmed with fear, sadness, and grief. Little did we know that those feelings would soon subside and love and joy would overshadow them. Aiken is just like any other (almost) four year old. He is kind, joyful, silly, stubborn, smart, adorable, an amazing big brother, empathetic, and occasionally a real pain in the you know what.
This year we are raising money to help benefit the Down Syndrome Center of Pittsburgh of UPMC at Children's Hospital. The Down Syndrome Center doctors and staff have been amazing at providing us with the support and information that we need to make sure that Aiken is hitting developmental milestones as well as staying healthy. They specialize in all things related to Down Syndrome from initial visits for newborns to assisting families and people with Down Syndrome throughout adulthood.
Please consider making a donation to help Aiken and all of his friends continue to have the services that help them thrive in the community and have the healthcare services they deserve and need.
